China's Ministry of Commerce: We are evaluating whether to conduct economic and trade negotiations with the United States

China's Ministry of Commerce responded to reporters' questions on its website on Friday, saying that China has noticed that senior U.S. officials have repeatedly expressed their willingness to negotiate with China on tariff issues. At the same time, the U.S. has recently sent messages to China through relevant parties many times, hoping to talk with China. China is currently evaluating this.

The spokesperson pointed out that China's position has always been consistent: if we fight, we will fight to the end; if we negotiate, the door is open. He also pointed out that the tariff war and trade war were unilaterally initiated by the United States. If the United States wants to negotiate, it should show its sincerity and be prepared and take action to correct its wrong practices and cancel unilateral tariffs.

The spokesperson also pointed out that the US has recently been leaking information about adjusting tariff measures. China wants to emphasize that if the US does not correct its erroneous unilateral tariff measures during any possible dialogue and talks, it means that the US has no sincerity and will further damage mutual trust between the two sides. Saying one thing and doing another, or even trying to coerce and defraud under the guise of negotiations, will not work for China.
