More than 100 Malaysians are safe and will be evacuated from Kashmir in the near future

(New Delhi, 23rd) Following the gunman attack in Pahalgam in the Indian state of Jammu and Kashmir on Tuesday, more than 100 Malaysians are expected to evacuate the state within a few days.

The Malaysian High Commission in India said all Malaysians who travelled to Kashmir are currently safe.

High Commissioner Datuk Muzaffar Shah told Bernama that an operations room has been set up at the High Commission to monitor the situation and assist the 118 Malaysians in Kashmir.

A group of 14 Malaysians left Kashmir today.

"We have advised them to leave Jammu and Kashmir as soon as possible. As flights are limited, they are expected to leave by April 25."

The High Commission also advised citizens to postpone all non-essential travel to Kashmir in view of the local security situation.
