(Kota Kinabalu, 23rd) A 6-ton lorry collided with a motorcycle, causing the lorry driver and passenger to be trapped inside the car, while the rider was injured and rushed to the hospital for treatment!
The accident occurred at the traffic light on Jalan Permai, Sepangka Indah, Sabah at about 4pm this afternoon.
Kota Kinabalu Fire and Rescue Department Director Odin Kirul said that after receiving the above report, the department immediately sent people to the scene to carry out rescue.
He said that when the firefighters arrived at the scene, they found that the accident involved a 6-ton lorry and a motorcycle, in which the driver and passengers in the lorry were trapped inside the car.
"The firefighters immediately used special machines to rescue the two trapped people, but after examination by medical staff on the scene, they confirmed that they had been seriously injured and died."
Odinkiru said that as for the rider, he was injured and was sent to the hospital for further treatment afterwards.
"The body of the deceased has been handed over to the police for handling; after the department confirmed that the scene was safe, it withdrew its team back to the department at 5:50 pm."
