(Bentong, 23rd) Bentong District Police Chief Superintendent Zai Han said that the department is looking for another vehicle involved in a fatal accident on the East Coast Expressway last night.

He issued a statement tonight stating that the police received a public report at about 10pm last night that a fatal accident occurred at 80.8km on the East Coast Expressway Section 1 (LPT 1) from Kuantan to Kuala Lumpur.

"Preliminary investigations revealed that a car travelling from Kuantan to Kuala Lumpur lost control and crashed into a vehicle in front of it when it arrived at the scene. The type and registration number of the other vehicle involved are still under investigation."

Superintendent Zai Han said the case will be investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Traffic Act 1987.

At the same time, Superintendent Zai Han called on anyone who witnessed the accident to come forward and provide information to the police to assist the police in conducting a more comprehensive investigation.

The accident site was about one kilometer before the Karak toll road off the East Coast Highway.

The deceased's car crashed into the vehicle in front, causing damage to the front.
