Bukit Mertajam, 23rd) A man went to a well-known chain restaurant for a meal and waited for nearly 30 minutes before the food was served; even more shockingly, he was charged an additional fee of RM1.20 for each small packet of soy sauce, which left him with a very bad dining experience.
According to the online media "The Reporter", the man recently posted a video on Tik Tok, expressing his dissatisfaction with the restaurant's service quality and extra charges, which aroused heated discussions among netizens.
He said frankly that the dining experience in the restaurant was very disappointing. Even though the restaurant was not crowded at the time, he still waited for nearly 30 minutes before receiving the food he ordered.
Shockingly, he claimed that he was also charged an additional RM1.20 per packet as the soy sauce pump in the condiment tray was not refilled.
“Imagine, after waiting so long, the rice and vegetables are cold. They also charge RM1.20 for soy sauce, but that small packet is not enough for a set meal. If you want to run a business, how can you treat your customers like this?”
He stressed that he had no intention of discouraging any business, but that the dining experience was unfair to paying customers.
In the video, the man also showed that the restaurant looked deserted at the time, but the service was still slow and inefficient, which puzzled many netizens.
Most netizens supported the man's criticism, believing that the restaurant was unable to provide basic hot food and seasoning services, and that it was too much to charge extra for soy sauce packets.
As of now, the restaurant management has not made any official statement regarding the complaint.
